AJC Best Burger In Atlanta Voting
We need your help in what now appears to be a battle between us and Moxie Burger based out of East Cobb. Why does this matter to us?  Vote Here
  • Ego, of course, is at the root of it.
  • We are competitive.
  • Always nice to have something current to brag about on our website.
  • We really do believe our burger is hard to beat and want those burger lovers not in the know to come experience the joy. So maybe for humanitarian reasons?

Please send the link to anyone you know who might be a fan of our burger. If you FacebookTweet or Insta, please share the M&T posts.

Come celebrate National Tequila Day with us on 7/24 @ Local Three on the beautiful Garden Terrace Patio.
A pig roast along with a fine spread of Mexican inspired fare and tasty tequila drinks. Details>
BTW- you need to check out L3’s latest Sunday Night Pop Up series, Taqueria Tres Payasos. (The Three Clowns Taco Joint). There is noting authentically Mexican about us three gringos except we love the food, the tequila, the people and in particular the three terrific cooks who are qualified to prepare the authentic fare> every Sunday night.

Shelley and I had a couple of Wicked Pissahs last night. (Quality control) I am obviously biased but holy isht was it good. The cucumber- tomato salad, bisque, blueberry buckle, butter toasted bun and of course the heaping portion of lobster in the remoulade was just STUPID. Couldn’t finish it all. If I had a magic wand and could divert all the “flatlanders” (a Maineiacs term of endearment for tourists) flooding into Maine right now to the M&T lobster roll experience, I would. It is not a traditional Maine lobster roll, but we think it is better. You can’t find anything like or priced as the Wicked Pissah in Maine. If you do, share it with me and I’ll buy you one at M&T. I’m heading up in two weeks and will continue searching myself.

Bread For The Head
I’m going to start sharing some fuel for good thinking that has my attention as of late.

Watch:
The Vietnam War, Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s ten-part, 18-hour documentary series now on Netflix. I’m only half way through part two and it is beyond captivating. I can honestly say I learned more about the war from the first 60 minutes of this series than in my entire life. From what I understand the comprehensiveness of this film is having a profound impact on vets who were there and believed they understood it all.

Listen:
The podcast Revisionist History is Malcolm Gladwell’s journey through the overlooked and the misunderstood. I listened to a few on my way back from the beach last week and this episode in particular stuck out. It is focusses on NBC news anchor Brian Willams’s false recount of a war story told a nation but is really about how our memory can so easily fool or fail us. It is so often that either myself or others I’m around are convinced their recollection of the past is the truth and it is simply not. A lapse in memory is not necessarily a lapse in character.

Read:
Who Likes Aged Beef? I’d be willing to bet the farm not as much as this guy. Read this> WSJ article on Jose Gordon, proprietor of Bodega El Capricho in Spain’s Castille-Leon region. If you are endeared by the restaurateur who grows their own produce, you will love this story.

After the hiccup. I recently shared this short blog post by Seth Godin with our management team as it is relevant to what we do and frankly part of the reason why we’ve earned the loyalty from many of you reading this email over the years. Making mistakes and stumbling can lead to disaster or to an amazing recovery that will expose our true intentions and earn the trust of each other and our guests.  If you’re not reading Seth’s blog every day, consider it. I’ve been paying close attention to him for nearly twenty years. He is a sage.

Enjoy your week and thank you for your attention and support of our business.
