With gratitude front and center this week, I wanted to share with you THREE things about the Giving Kitchen that may not be on your radar and I hope you might find meaningful.

ONE
The countdown to our favorite event of the year is on! With the Super Bowl taking over Atlanta at the end of January, we are pushing Team Hidi to February 24, 2019, so go ahead and mark your calendars and purchase a ticket. Tickets will open up to the public on Friday and we are ALMOST SOLD OUT Just over 100 tickets remaining. No joke. Tastemaker tickets are already SOLD OUT. Last year was a record sell out the Friday after Thanksgiving and with all of you on this list, we may not have to open sales beyond our friends and family. Let’s do this!!
General admission tickets are $175 – doors open at 5:00p.m. You have to experience this event if you’ve never been. If its not worth the $175 and some, I’ll put credit on your loyalty card.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the 2017 Annual Report and a Five Year Look Back that was just released. Please take a look. You might even see your name. This is the most important document we’ve ever published in five years and it is a real tangible symbol of where we came from, where we are and where we are going as an organization. If you can carve out the time, please watch the 9 minute video below. Anthony Bourdain’s suicide was a complete shock to everyone but a tipping point for many of us restaurant folks.
Warning, it is powerful and it could save someone’s life.
If you or someone you know in our company or industry who is hurting and needs help with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addiction or suicidal tendencies please know that the Giving Kitchen can help connect folks to assistance not just provide financial grants. The team has built an extensive network of social services and specialists they can refer. Over 700 of our restaurant peers have been connected to assistance in just the last few years.

Thanks to all of YOU who’ve given so much of your time, efforts, love and resources over the nearly six years since Ryan Hidinger’s diagnosis. Watch this 3 min tribute to him if you want to understand or reconnect with who he was.
We are really proud to share that as a team we contribute almost $1,600 per month to the Giving Kitchen through payroll deductions in Hidi’s honor. 110 out of 131 (84%). He would be so damn proud.
Because of YOUR support of M&T and Local Three and our incredible team’s daily efforts myself, Chris and Todd are afforded the opportunity to continue to be a part of governing, guiding and supporting TGK. Without question it is the most important entity we’ve ever been a part of creating and will probably ever be in our lifetimes.
