James Beard Award – This Monday May 6th

If anyone is interested we plan to open up the Grog Shop to watch the James Beard Awards on Monday night at 6:30pm. It is expected that the Humanitarian award for The Giving Kitchen will be between 6:50pm – 7:10pm as the run of show can change. No formal plan other than come by for a drink, dinner or just fellowship and to share in the moment with other M&T folks.

They’ll be streaming the Restaurant and Chef Awards live on Twitter and at jamesbeard.org/awards . Also, ABC will be airing a special on 5/19 from 4-5pm.

Happy 10 Year Anniversary of Dameren Parenteau

It’s only fitting that this Monday also marks ten years that Dameren has been with us at M&T. Dameren came to us in 2009 as an established chef and former desert road onesie model. He started working on the line as a cook and continuously impressed us to ultimately earned his way to become our chef de cuisine in 2011. It is impossible to put into writing all that Dameren has contributed the success of M&T. It is immense. His level of care into the food and our people has been unmatched. Dameren’s intellect and wit is of legend and has caused us all a range of emotions from deep concern to confusion and much laughter over the years. Menu after menu, every two months for the last 8 years have been creative and inspiring but comforting and always delicious. And anyone who knows his cooking, knows when there is a dish of Asian origin on our menu to order it. Please join us in congratulating, thanking and celebrating Dameren Parenteau. dameren@mussandturners.com

Some of you have been inquiring about lobster rolls. Historically we start on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We have our eye on the price of Maine lobster as last year it was outrageous. Stay tuned and in the meantime the Ramen continues to be a hit so come and give it a try if haven’t yet.
